This year’s winning restaurant doesn’t take reservations and can get notoriously busy, so please RSVP as soon as you’re able (or by noon on Friday, at the latest). Once I start to get an idea of group size, I’ll call them and explain our deal, just in case they’re willing to make some kind of exception. Please note the early start time of 6pm – which should make getting a table a little easier. It’s also BYOB, which is nice. Expect a location for Drunk Club a few days from now.

I’ll release all the numbers later in the week, but with *five* 1st place votes, The Angry Crab annihilated its competition. It was certainly my first choice, as it was one of the most memorable R.C.’s I’ve ever attended. You essentially order some combination of fresh fish and shellfish (by weight), which gets boiled – along with any number of potatoes, sausages and/or corn cobs – in your choice of garlicky and/or spicy sauce(s). It is then dropped in front of you in a giant, cellophane bag, at which point, you don rubber gloves and a smock and go to town. It’s messy, noisy, tasty, reasonably-priced and a ton of fun. Meanwhile, all around you, an ethnically / socially / agedly (?) diverse crowd of folks is doing the exact same thing and it’s glorious. Check out what the Reader had to say.
